Questions homeowners ask first
Short answers. The property page and the disclosure control the payment, if you choose to continue.
Is the number on the property page a construction bid?
No. It is a preliminary planning estimate for the services you check. It is not a contract to build a house and it is not a permit.
Will my name, email, or phone number appear on the public page?
No. Public pages show the address, lot, zoning, earlier building area, and the planning estimate. Owner contact records are not part of that page.
Does looking up an address start any work?
No. Search does not create an account, send email, or authorize anyone to go on the property.
Which services can the estimate include?
A land survey, a soil report, architectural drawings, structural drawings, and fire sprinkler drawings. A service is included only if you leave it checked.
Why is the living area different from the house that burned?
It is a preliminary figure for that lot, not a copy of the house that burned and not a City approval. You can change it on the property page.
What was the Palisades Fire?
It is the wildfire CAL FIRE records as starting on January 7, 2025, in Pacific Palisades. This site does not reprint a damage total. The incident page is fire.ca.gov/incidents/2025/1/7/palisades-fire.
Can this website tell me if I may rebuild the same house?
No. Like-for-like rules, hillside review, and permit timing come from the City of Los Angeles. Start at recovery.lacity.gov/rebuilding. This website is not the City.
Is the 10% payment a construction down payment?
No. When a deposit is offered on the property page, it applies to planning services only. It does not authorize construction.
What is a general building contractor?
A contractor licensed in the B classification to take on a building that needs more than one trade. The license does not replace an architect or an engineer. Alpha Construction Management, Inc. license 1079387 is a B license.
Which homes are on the map?
Burned homes in this dataset that do not yet have a building application on file. Homes that already applied are not in the public search.
